Why You Should Translate Your Content into Different Languages

Why You Should Translate Your Content into Different Languages

Last year, I had the idea to translate Speak Easy into Spanish.

After it was successfully done, I translated Level Up Mentality into Spanish.

After that was successfully done, I created a new bundle offer with Spanish Speak Easy and Spanish Level Up Mentality.

Just like that, I had 3 new products.

The 3 new products attracted a Spanish audience and introduced the ArmaniTalks brand to a whole new sector of the world.

Just imagine, there was potential energy all along.

Once I converted the content from English to Spanish, that potential energy became kinetic.

The unique thing with digital real estate (aka content) is there are so many creative things you can do to unlock more opportunities.

Why I Decided to Convert My Content into Different Languages

I’m not a pro at this by any means.

Thus far, I’ve only tapped into Spanish.

My long-term goal is to convert my library into French, Hindi, Chinese, Arabic, and more.

I got the idea to convert my library when someone on my YouTube channel wrote:

‘Brother, please turn your content into Hindi!’

I thought, what for?

I’m speaking it in English.

The idea was planted in my mind.

One day, I thought, why not??

If an audience member is not proficient in English, then it would be wise for the creator to make the content accessible in other languages.

Obviously, there are downsides too.

The downside is that I don’t fully know how great of a job is being done because I don’t speak the language myself.

This is a situation where I’m willing to take a risk.

In business, risk is always going to be there.

You just need to be strategic about which risks are worth taking.

How I Convert My Content into Spanish

Here’s how I have been converting my content into Spanish…

I first create the content in English.

Then I hit up a translator on Fiver to convert the manuscript into Spanish.

I also have them convert the book description and the author’s biography into Spanish as well.

  • The book description and the author’s biography are the content on the back of paperback books.

It normally takes her 20-ish days to convert the content.

Once I get the updated manuscript, author’s biography, and description…

I get my book formatter to convert the Word file into a paperback PDF and Kindle epub.

I get my book designer to update the texts of the covers into Spanish.

Once I am given the final files, I have a brand-new book!

Most people can end it here.

But for me, I turn my books into audiobooks as well.

I go on the ACX platform and put up a job listening for the Spanish Speak Easy.

I also include a 1 paragraph audition script.

A bunch of narrators from around the world apply for the job & read the audition script in their voice.

I listen to their scripts and choose the one whose voice I like the most.

Once I choose them, it takes them a few weeks to complete a book.

I now have a brand new book in:

  • eBook.
  • Paperback.
  • Audio.

Finding Your Workflow

I’m describing everything in an easy manner, but this is very time-consuming and tedious.

There are times when a designer loses a file.

Other times, the narrator is ready, but the manuscript guy is slow to convert.

And other times, everyone seems to be on different schedules.

In the future, I see more services that will pair with authors to convert their entire library to multiple languages.

That would be so convenient.

I’ve seen a few services like that, but they had sloppy customer support.

One group reached out to me to translate my library…but forgot to show up to our meeting.

The next day, they said sorry and wanted to reschedule.

Buddy, if you forget a meeting that YOU suggested, what kind of professionalism will you show with translating my library??

In the future, I see more services with top-tier customer support that allows the author to feel at ease as their library is being converted.

More creators are going to look into translating their library.

It’s almost dumb not to.

Sometimes, a book will be a flop in English, but in Spanish, it takes off.

I’m curious to see where this experiment will go.

I wonder what the potential is for other languages like Hindi, French, and Arabic.

Why Stop at Books?

I’ve seen Mr. Beast translate a bunch of his content into different languages.

He’s a transparent guy.

For one of his channels, he’s making roughly $130,000 per month from it.

Some may say that’s not a lot for Mr. Beast’s level of celebrity.

But think about it like this…

He is converting content that was already there into different vehicles.

View it as an extra $130,000 for remixing pre-existing content.

We need to allow artificial intelligence to catch up.

Once it does, why not convert YouTube videos, blogs, shorts, and podcasts into different languages?

Make it easy for others to find you.

Creating a Global Empire

A few months ago, I got a DM in Spanish.

This guy was talking to me like I knew how to speak Spanish.

I was on my computer, so I translated what he said.

His words translated into English said:

‘Thanks for making your content available in Spanish! Really enjoying it.’

Since this guy was talking to me in Spanish, I doubt he would have fully understood the ArmaniTalks ideas in English.

But in Spanish, he understood the real deal.

I said thanks to him and told him to be on the lookout for future content.

It only took one guy to message me for me to realize that people speak different languages and consume media differently.

The average person consumes media for 6-7 hours a day.

If you can be a part of those 6-7 hours, then consider it a blessing.
