How I Stumbled into Lucid Dreaming

How I Stumbled into Lucid Dreaming

The following talk is from the ArmaniTalks Newsletter

Words play a big role in our reality.

Not sure where I heard it, but someone said:

“Words are the lens for the mind.’

One observation that I have noticed since writing these daily emails is that my thinking has gotten clearer.

The words translated into a clearer lens for the mind.

But what I have noticed as of late is that my dreams have gotten clearer as well.

And when I wake up, I remember a lot of it.

Not all of it though. But the most I have ever in my life.

I don’t know if that’s because of writing every day, or because I stopped using my phone for the first few hours of waking up.

Invested in a legit alarm clock recently & leave my phone in another room.

It may be the prior.

It may be the latter.

It may be both.

But what does lucid dreaming have to do with communication skills?

A lot to be honest.

I typically say how communication skills is a representation of your mind.

It’s hard to be a clear, concise communicator if you are a messy thinker.

So the mind & speaking/writing skills have a see-saw-like effect.

When you dream, it’s at a state where you are fully uninhibited. Your mind flows without restrictions.

And what’s more fascinating is that your ego momentarily dies out.

One thing I notice from my dreams is that it’s not always about me.

A lot of them still center around me.

But also, a lot of the dreams center around ambiguous concepts.

Had a dream yesterday about a teacher disciplining a student who was always forgetting their homework.

Wasn’t sure who the kid was. But my mind had created him.

I was simply an observer.

Observing your dreams allows you to gain a 4-D perspective of your mind.

When you momentarily slash the ego, you’re able to see from different angles.

Sort of like going from having ONLY the front windshield in your car to now having the windshield, the side mirrors, and the rearview mirror.

And if you have a newer model car, then one of those rear view cameras as well.

Understanding your mind on a deeper level builds your creativity.

You are able to approach topics from new perspectives to solve them.

And your content creation skyrockets.

Everyone has a different method when it comes to dreaming.

I’m no expert on this by any means.

But what I recommend you do is avoid reaching for the phone when you wake up.

Invest 6 bucks on an alarm clock from Amazon if you’re an early riser.

And soon as you wake up, make it a conscious effort to recall fragments of your dream.

It’ll be tough, but it’s doable.

You’ll be sloppy in the beginning, but it improves over time.

When you wake up, it’s a handover from your subconscious mind back to your conscious mind.

You’re in a very relaxed brain-wave state.

So leverage that bridge within the handover.

If you were lacking creativity, then this trick will pay dividends.

Not sure if there’s any research on it, but I’ll see how far it goes.

Lucid dreaming gives you access to a new world that you have been sleeping on (all the pun intended).

Let’s see what unanswered answers we may be able to find.
